Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre parking and bag policy, in one paragraph

Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre is at 2121 N 83rd Ave in west Phoenix, off I-10. It is not at Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale. This is the old Ak-Chin Pavilion, and before that Cricket Wireless Pavilion and Desert Sky Pavilion. Lots usually open 30 minutes before gate time, and parking is sold per show, with Premier and Easy Out upgrades. Bags must be clear and about 12″ x 12″ x 6″ or smaller, or a clutch up to 6″ x 9″. You can bring sealed water up to one gallon. Rideshare pickup is on Palm Lane, southwest of the venue.

Rules vary by tour, especially on blankets and reusable bottles. Check your event page the week of the show.

Anyone who has lived in the Valley since the 90s still calls this place Desert Sky, and three names later the same mistake keeps sending people to the wrong side of the Valley: they type “Talking Stick” into their phone and end up at the casino in Scottsdale. The amphitheatre opened in November 1990 and sits in Maryvale, about 30 miles west of the resort that holds the naming rights. Live Nation runs it, and the season runs roughly April through October. Here is how parking, bags, chairs and water work.

Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre parking

All parking is in the venue lots that surround the amphitheatre off 83rd Avenue and Encanto Boulevard. The lots usually open 30 minutes before the scheduled gate time, and gates open about 60 to 90 minutes before the first act.

Parking option Where Best for
General parking The main lots around the venue Most fans. Parking is sold per show; check your event page or the Live Nation app.
Premier Parking A short walk from the ticket gates Shorter walk in the heat. One space per purchase, limited.
Reserved Premier Parking Front of the Premier lot, held all night Arriving late and still parking close. Cars only.
Easy Out Parking Near the West Gate (Gate 2) Getting out fastest after the show.
Oversized (limos and RVs) In the Premier lot Limos and RVs. No overnight parking.
Accessible parking Inside Gate 3 and Gate 6, off Encanto Blvd Guests with a valid state placard or plate.

How much is parking at Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre?

General parkingSet per show
Premier / Reserved PremierPaid upgrade, limited
Easy OutPaid upgrade, limited
Overnight parkingNot allowed; vehicles towed
PaymentCard only; free cash-to-card at Guest Services

The venue does not publish a single parking price, because it changes by tour. If the upgrade page shows “no shows,” there is nothing on sale yet for that date.

⚠️ No tailgating, no overnight

Tailgating is not allowed in the lots, and overnight parking is not allowed either. Vehicles left behind are towed at the owner’s expense. If your group plans to drink, book a rideshare both ways instead of leaving a car in the lot.

⚡ AZ INSIDER TIP

This is an outdoor venue in west Phoenix, and an April or September show can still be 100 degrees at gate time. Buy Easy Out if you are coming from the East Valley: most of the crowd heads for I-10 at the same time, and the Gate 2 lot puts you at the front of that line. Fill a sealed gallon of water in the car, carry it in, and refill at the free YETI stations inside.

Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre bag policy

Every bag is searched at the gate, and everyone walks through a metal detector. Here is what gets in:

  • One clear plastic bag no bigger than about 12″ x 12″ x 6″. The venue FAQ also lists clear bags and totes up to 12″ x 6″ x 12″.
  • Or one small clutch, wristlet or fanny pack no bigger than 6″ x 9″.
  • Water: factory-sealed and unfrozen, up to one gallon per person, or an empty reusable bottle to fill inside. In high heat the limit rises to two gallons. Metal Hydro Flasks are not allowed, and some shows ban reusable bottles.
  • Sunscreen and bug spray in non-aerosol form.
  • Blankets at most shows. Some heavy rock and metal tours ban them, so check the event page.

Can I bring a lawn chair?

Not your own. The only chairs allowed on the lawn are the venue’s rental chairs, which you reserve on the upgrades page and return at the end of the night. The lawn itself is general admission: first come, first served, and the row and seat on a lawn ticket are for box office tracking only.
