This is where Angel Navarro (the shop’s “OG barber,” 10+ years) cuts, and where the steam facial treatments are offered alongside cuts and beard work. It draws the Camelback-corridor crowd: Optima residents, people working between Old Town and Arcadia, and anyone who’d rather not deal with Old Town parking. Google lists it open Monday through Sunday; Yelp shows it appointment-only, so book online rather than assuming a walk-in slot.

A detail from the reviews I can’t verify anywhere else in Scottsdale: you can drop off your sneakers for cleaning while you get cut. You’re handed a cold filtered water on arrival.

The $200 mobile minimum makes the most sense split across a group: a bachelor party at a Paradise Valley rental or a wedding party at a Troon North clubhouse is where this service earns its price.
What the Google reviews actually say
105 Google reviews across both locations as of September 2, 2026: 75 at Optima averaging 4.7, 30 at Main averaging 4.9. Reading all of them, four patterns repeat:
- Cuts that grow out well. The single most common phrase is some version of “still looks good two weeks later.” That’s the signature of a barber cutting for the growth cycle, not the mirror.
- Wedding and event cuts. A noticeable share of reviews are from people who booked days before a wedding, including out-of-towners from Tucson who found the shop while in town. The shop has clearly built a reputation for getting the timing right.
- Curly hair and beards. Multiple reviewers describe coming in not knowing what to do with curly hair or a beard and leaving with a new style. That’s Wendy and Angel.
- Unhurried appointments. The same trait shows up as praise (“takes the time to make sure everything is done correctly”) and, implicitly, as the reason Optima sits at 4.7 rather than 4.9. If you need to be out in 20 minutes, say so when you book.
Two caveats for honesty: the Main Street shop has only 30 Google reviews, so its 4.9 is a smaller sample than the 540 at First & Mane or the 891 at HQ. And Yelp lists the Optima location as appointment-only while Google shows walk-in hours; treat online booking as the default.
