Crescent Ballroom parking, in one paragraph

Crescent Ballroom is at 308 N 2nd Ave in downtown Phoenix. There’s no lot of its own. The closest parking is the garage directly across from the entrance, at the northeast corner of 2nd Avenue and Van Buren. City street meters nearby cost $1.50 an hour from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and are free after 10 p.m. The easiest option is the light rail: the Van Buren/1st Ave and Van Buren/Central Ave stations are a block or two away. Most shows are 21+ unless a minor is with a legal guardian, large bags and backpacks aren’t allowed, and there’s no bag storage.

Ticketing usually opens about 30 minutes before doors. Check the show page on crescentphx.com for door times and the age limit.

Crescent is the best room in Phoenix to see a band before they get too big for it, and parking is the one thing people grumble about. The fix is simple once you know the block. This guide covers the garage across the street, the meters, the light rail, and the age and bag rules that send people back to their cars. If you’re headed to a bigger show this season, our State Farm Stadium parking and bag policy guide covers Glendale.

Where to park for Crescent Ballroom

Option Where What to know
Garage across the street Northeast corner of 2nd Ave and Van Buren The venue’s recommended spot and the shortest walk. Rates are posted at the entrance and can go up on event nights.
City street meters 2nd Ave, 1st Ave, Van Buren and the side streets $1.50 an hour from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day, including weekends. Free from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. Most have a 2-hour limit. Pay by card, coins or the ParkMobile app.
Pre-booked event parking Nearby lots and garages SpotHero and ParkWhiz sell reserved spaces for Crescent shows. It’s worth it on sold-out nights when the street fills up.
Light rail Van Buren/1st Ave (southbound) and Van Buren/Central Ave (northbound) B Line stations about a block or two from the door. The easiest way to skip parking completely.
Rideshare 2nd Ave out front Fine for drop-off. After the show, walk a block toward Central before you request a ride and you’ll get picked up faster.
⚡ AZ INSIDER TIP

Do the meter math before you pay for a garage. If doors are at 8 and you park at 7:30, you’re only paying meter rates until 10 p.m., then it’s free. That’s about $4 if the posted limit lets you stay. The catch is the 2-hour limit on most meters, so read the sign on yours before you walk away. On a Friday or Saturday with a sold-out show and something on at The Van Buren two blocks west, skip the gamble and use the garage or the light rail.

Crescent Ballroom age policy

  • Default: 21+, unless a minor is with a legal guardian.
  • Some shows are 16+ or 18+. The age limit is shown when you buy tickets.
  • Children under 12 are not permitted.
  • All-ages shows: a barrier separates underage guests from the 21+ area. Underage guests wait outside until doors open, then come in through the back entrance after getting a wristband.
  • Re-entry: guests 21 and over can leave and come back. Concert guests under 21 can’t re-enter, even to go to the car.
  • ID: anyone who wants a drink needs a valid, non-expired government photo ID, whatever their age.

Crescent Ballroom bag policy and house rules

⚠️ Leave the backpack in the car

Large bags and backpacks aren’t allowed in the Ballroom, and the venue has no storage. Handbags are searched at the door. Outside food and drinks aren’t allowed and have to be thrown away before you come in. Meta glasses are prohibited.

  • Cameras: each band sets its own rules. House policy is no professional equipment unless the artist authorizes it, and even then only for the first three songs, with no flash. Video and audio recording aren’t allowed.
  • Smoking: nothing indoors. The lounge patio has ashtrays, and the north patio is smoke-free until 9 p.m.
  • Tabs: cards left open at the end of the night are closed with a 20% service gratuity added. Forgotten cards are held in the lounge for two weeks.
  • Tickets: sold on the crescentphx.com calendar, or at the door if a show isn’t sold out. Door sales usually start about 30 minutes before doors open.
✅ Sold out? Go anyway

When a Ballroom show sells out, the front lounge and patios stay open to the public. Cocina 10, the kitchen inside Crescent, serves the lounge. That makes it a solid place for dinner and a drink before a show somewhere else downtown.
