Mullett Arena parking and bag policy, in one paragraph
Mullett Arena is at 411 S Packard Dr on ASU’s Tempe campus, just south of Rio Salado Parkway and the 202. Park in the Packard Drive Parking Structure or the Novus garage; Sun Devil Athletics parking is $15 and concert parking varies. ASU Parking runs every lot. Bags must be clear and no larger than 12″ x 6″ x 12″, plus a small clutch up to 4.5″ x 6.5″. The building is cashless, there is no re-entry, and Lyft pickup is Lot 10 at Rio Salado and Packard.
Concerts can set their own bag rules and parking prices. Check your event page the week of the show.
Mullett Arena opened in October 2022, and for two seasons it was the smallest building in the NHL while the Coyotes played here. That era ended in 2024, and these days it is a college hockey barn with about 5,000 seats, a G League team and a steady run of concerts. It is one of the better small rooms in the Valley, but it sits in the middle of a university campus, which means the parking, bag and smoking rules are ASU’s rules. This guide covers all of them. Mullett Arena parking
ASU Parking controls every space for Mullett Arena events, and the lots are staffed about three hours before each event. The arena sits west of Rural Road, south of Rio Salado Parkway, so most fans come in off the 202.
| Parking option | Where | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Packard Drive Parking Structure | Off Packard Drive and 6th Street, a short walk south of the arena | Used for Sun Devil hockey, concerts and touring shows. The default choice. |
| Novus Parking garage | The Novus Innovation Corridor, next to the arena | An alternative for the same events. For Sun Devil athletics, Novus parking is offered in the spring only. |
| Surface lot | Next to the arena | Hockey season pass holders only. |
| Lot 10 (rideshare) | Northeast corner of Rio Salado Parkway and Packard Drive | Lyft pickup and drop-off. Not for parking. |
| Light rail | Veterans Way/College Ave or Mill Ave/3rd St stations | The cheapest way in from Phoenix, Mesa or Chandler. |
How much is parking at Mullett Arena?
The $15 rate is the arena’s published Sun Devil Athletics price. Concert promoters set their own parking prices, so check the event page.
If you are coming from Phoenix or the airport, take Loop 202 to Exit 7 (Scottsdale Road/Rural Road), go south, turn right on Rio Salado and left on Packard. Leaving, the Packard structure empties onto 6th Street, so the fastest way home to the south and east is Rural Road to the 60, not back up to the 202 with everyone else. And if you want dinner on Mill Avenue, park once at the arena and walk: Mill is about a 15-minute walk west.
Mullett Arena bag policy
All bags are subject to search and possible X-ray scanning. For Sun Devil Athletics events, the rules are:
- One clear bag no larger than 12″ x 6″ x 12″.
- Plus one small clutch no larger than 4.5″ x 6.5″.
- Diaper bags and medical bags are allowed after a search.
- Seat cushions up to 18″ x 18″ are allowed if they have no pockets or zippers.
- Not allowed: backpacks, large purses, oversized totes, colored plastic bags, drawstring bags, camera bags, binocular cases, mesh bags and reusable grocery bags.
Mullett Arena does not hold items for you. Anything that fails at the door has to go back to your car or in the trash, and the Packard structure is a few minutes’ walk each way. Concerts can set their own bag policy, so read the event page before you leave home.
