Arizona Financial Theatre parking and bag policy, in one paragraph
Arizona Financial Theatre is at 400 W Washington St in downtown Phoenix, at 4th Avenue. The venue garage is the Adams Street Parking Garage at 4th Avenue and Adams Street, one block north. It opens at 6 p.m. on weekdays, earlier on weekends, and it is cashless. Bags can be up to 12″ x 6″ x 12″ and every bag is searched; no backpacks. You can bring up to two factory-sealed bottles of water, up to 1 liter each. Doors usually open one hour before showtime.
The venue sets parking rates per show, so check the parking add-on on your event page before you drive.
Most people in the Valley still call this room the Dodge Theatre, or the Comerica Theatre if they started going to shows after 2010. It opened in 2002, it holds up to 5,000, and it is one of the easiest big rooms in Phoenix to get into, as long as you know about the garage, the bag rule and the 6 p.m. weekday catch. This guide covers all of it, plus where to eat within a few blocks. Going to a stadium show this fall instead? Our State Farm Stadium parking and bag policy guide covers Glendale.
Arizona Financial Theatre parking
The theatre sits on the south side of Washington Street between 3rd and 4th Avenues, in the government end of downtown next to City Hall. You have three realistic choices: the venue garage, another downtown garage, or the light rail.
| Option | Where | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Adams Street Parking Garage | 4th Avenue and Adams Street, one block north of the theatre | The venue’s own garage. Opens 6 p.m. weekdays and earlier on weekends. Not available for weekday shows that start before 6 p.m. Buy online, at the box office or at the entrance. Cashless. |
| Other downtown garages | CityScape, Collier Center and the garages around Jefferson Street, all within walking distance | Sold through parking apps. Rates jump on nights when Footprint Center or Chase Field also has an event. |
| Street meters | Surrounding blocks | Downtown meters are enforced on many evenings and weekends now. Read the posted sign before you walk away. |
| Light rail | Downtown Phoenix Hub (City Hall) station, A and B lines | About three blocks east of the theatre. Skips the garage line completely. |
How much is parking at Arizona Financial Theatre?
Arizona Financial Theatre does not publish one parking rate, because it changes by show. Treat any number you see on a third-party site as that site’s price, not the venue’s.
Check the downtown calendar before you pick a garage. When the Suns or Mercury are home at Footprint Center, or the Diamondbacks are at Chase Field, every garage east of Central fills early and prices climb. On those nights the Adams Street Garage, which sits on the west side of downtown, is the one to have pre-bought. If you are coming from Tempe or Mesa, the light rail drops you three blocks away and you skip the exit traffic on 7th Street completely.
